We invite
you to browse through the Village of Homer, New York.
Our unique character comes from our small-town, rural atmosphere,
our broad, charming tree-lined streets, a rich and varied collection
of eighteenth and nineteenth century homes and commercial buildings,
and the Victorian business district. Our picturesque village
green and its gazebo serve as the hub for many of the cultural,
educational, and religious affairs of the village.

Village of Homer Undertakes Comprehensive Planning Process
The Village of Homer is undertaking the development of a Comprehensive Plan to guide the future of the community. A comprehensive plan is a long-range document formally adopted by the local legislative body that provides focus for future municipal action and helps prioritize choices for the allocation of resources. Thoma Development Consultants has been hired by the Village to complete the plan. A local Steering Committee is guiding the process.
Since Comprehensive Plans are community visions, it only makes sense for citizens to voice their opinions about the future direction of Homer and have these opinions noted in the plan. This will be accomplished in a number of ways including a mail survey which is being randomly distributed to 500 Village households; through a series of public meetings; and through individual focus groups.
Those household members not chosen as part of the original survey mailing are welcome to complete a survey. One survey per household, please!
View the plan’s progress as it evolves.
